A wonderful sunny day in January for fertilizing olives

A beautiful sunny day, the last Saturday in January, turned out to be an ideal day to fertilize our olive groves. Fertilization was done with organic fertilizer based on manure and other organic substances.

Fertilization is very important for the health and fertility of olives, especially in the spring when the plant wakes up. We use only ECO fertilizer because our entire process is based on organic production. Due to practicality, we use fertilizer in the form of small-diameter pellets, which enable easy and quick distribution and assimilation of mineral-rich fertilizers.

Fertilization was done manually by scattering around the olive trees, in a circle with a diameter as wide as the olive tree crown.

With this fertilization, we want to ensure that our olive trees are healthy, strong and produce the best possible oil.

Benefits of fertilizing olive trees with organic fertilizer:

  • improves soil structure
  • increases soil fertility
  • it improves the quality of fruits
  • eco fertilizers are safer for people and the environment and don’t contain harmful chemicals that can get into food or water

The fertilizer used is organic fertilizer OLIVO BIO, which is certified for organic production. It contains the following nutrients: Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Boron, Calcium, Magnesium, Sulphur, humic and fulvic acids.

The fertilizer is enriched with boron, which is an important nutrient for olives. It helps improve the growth and development of olives and can help reduce the risk of diseases such as fungal diseases.

Since we also grow garlic, we used eco fertilizer and fertilized between the rows of garlic planted in October last year. It takes a long time for garlic to fully ripen, until summer. Until then, we will surely dig it by hand two or three times.
