Spring Olive Pruning Completed at OPG Bubičić

At OPG Bubičić, we have just completed this year’s spring olive pruning – one of the most important tasks in the olive grove, laying the foundation for a healthy and high-quality harvest.

Spring pruning contributes to:

      • better air circulation within the canopy,
      • improved light penetration,
      • balance between growth and fruit production,
      • reduced risk of disease,
      • stimulation of new shoots that will bear fruit.

The pruning was done manually, with careful removal of dry, damaged, and excess branches to ensure each tree has optimal conditions for growth and development during the vegetation season.

In addition to spring pruning, there is also summer pruning, during which we remove water sprouts – vigorous, non-productive shoots that drain energy from the tree without contributing to fruiting.

With this approach, we nurture the health of our olive trees and prepare the ground for producing top-quality olive oil.
